On Saturday and Sunday morning the Droomdief was performed as part of the 2011 Fugard Festival to a mixed audience who all loved the play and were totally amazed by the cast! These nine young girls were really awesome and I will always remember the time I have spent with them fondly. Most importantly though, they are so chuffed with their own performance and whenever I have seen one of them since their first performance I could see the sparkle and the fire burning brightly in their eyes. This is what doing drama with kids is all about!
And after a brilliant weekend, I went to the school today to introduce the principal to Thea Van Staaden who will be taking over the Arts Project as from next term as well as Richard Clarke who will be doing creative writing sessions with the teachers and students! Such a relief to know that the seed that was planted will be nurtured and watered and be allowed to grow!
A big thank you to Thea and Richard... The world needs more people like you!
